One of our most fundamental rights, thinking independently and acting according to our own conscience, is being challenged in the US by recent anti-boycott legislation that is sweeping the country. Anti-boycott laws are being used to restrict our rights to voice our objections. The first of these laws was aimed at boycotts against goods and services made by or in collaboration with an apartheid Israel. Now, anti-boycott laws are being created that make it illegal to boycott fossil fuels and fire arms.
We believe that anti-boycott legislation is a violation of our First Amendment Rights and we must raise our voice while we still can.
