  • ALJAZEERA – a news agency based in Qatar that covers in-depth news around the world. They have consistently maintained wide coverage on Israel-Palestine.
  • The Guardian – a “fearless, independent, reader-funded” global news source.
  • The Haaretz – an Israeli newspaper.
  • The Palestine Monitor – a Palestinian newspaper.
  • Electronic Intifada – an independent online news source focused on Palestine.
  • The Christian Science Monitor – an international news organization that helps you “see news events as starting points for constructive conversations.” 
  • Washington Report on Middle East Affairs is a news magazine published 7 times per year by the American Educational Trust, (AET), a non-profit foundation established by retired U.S. foreign service officers to provide Americans with balanced and accurate information concerning U.S. relations with Middle Eastern states. AET perceives a lack of knowledge about the Middle East, Arabs, and Muslims in the U.S. and pursues a mission of “Interpreting the Middle East for North Americans; Interpreting North America for the Middle East.”

Non-Government Organizations

  • Noura Erakat – Noura Erakat is a human rights attorney and associate professor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. She is a Co-Founding Editor of Jadaliyya, an electronic magazine on the Middle East that combines scholarly expertise and local knowledge.  She has served as legal counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives and as a legal advocate for Palestinian refugee rights at the United Nations. She is a frequent commentator, with recent appearances on CBS News, CNN, Fox News, and NPR, among others, and her writings have been widely published in the national media and academic journals.
  • U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights – a national network of activists and organizations who are committed to freedom, justice, and equality for the Palestinian people and who work to end U.S. complicity in their oppression.
  • Adalah Justice Project – a Palestinian advocacy organization based in the U.S. that aims to shift public discourse and policy on Palestine. They work towards collective liberation. “No one is free until all of us are free.”
  • B’Tselem – the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, “strives to end Israel’s occupation, recognizing that this is the only way to achieve a future that ensures human rights, democracy, liberty and equality to all people, Palestinian and Israeli alike, living on the bit of land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. Various political routes can bring about this future, and while it is not B’Tselem’s role to choose among them, one thing is certain: continued occupation is not an option.”
  • Israeli Commitee Against House Demolitions – “brought the issue of home demolitions before the world and we were the first organization to rebuild homes as an act of political resistance and to demonstrate that there are Palestinians and Israelis who refuse to be enemies.” They are a a political organization engaged in both resistance and advocacy.
  • Friends of Sabeel North America – a nonprofit Christian ecumenical organization seeking justice and peace in the Holy Land through nonviolent advocacy and education. Sabeel is an international peace movement initiated by Palestinian Christians, who seek a just peace as defined by international law and United Nations resolutions.
  • Palestine Portal – “a meeting place and resource for the churches organizations and faith-based communities – local, regional, national and global – committed to the justice movement for Israel/Palestine. As part of an emerging global movement, the church in the United States has taken a leading role in working for the liberation of Palestinians and Israelis from the evil of apartheid in our time.  Laity and clergy, young and old, church members from diverse backgrounds and walks of life are working together with Jewish, Muslim and secular partners and have achieved great momentum in promoting education, awareness, and direct action for a just peace in the Holy Land.”
  • United Methodist for Kairos Response  “the United Methodist Church response to a plea from Christians of the Holy Land for effective action that will help end Israel’s  military occupation and achieve equality and justice for all the people of the Holy Land. The United Methodist Church is a leader in supporting divestment or boycott of the Israeli Occupation.”
  • Foundation for Middle East Peace  – “created to promote a just resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Foundation advances this goal through education, advocacy, and news publications about the conflict.”
  • Institute for Research: Middle East Policy  “a Washington-based nonprofit organization that studies US-Middle East policy formulation.” It documents and exposes the behind-the-scenes activities of one of the most harmful forces driving U.S. policy: Israel and its US lobby.

Local Organizations

  • The Emerald Project – “a Utah-based organization led by three young Muslim women that wanted to create a safe space for real conversations following the echoes of a “Muslim Ban.” Since their first ‘Is Islamophobia Real?’ series at Salt Lake Marmalade Library in 2017, the Emerald Project has expanded its reach to diverse audiences including the FBI, Salt Lake Community College, lawmakers, and individuals from all backgrounds and views.”
  • Utah Muslim Civic League – works “to educate and empower citizens to be civically engaged in political and charitable action. They engage Muslims in civic activities; respond to Muslims’ collective concerns and issues; and empower Muslims as involved citizens and leaders.”
